At the top of Lord street, on the left hand side is St Peter's church. This is the first war memorial that was erected in Fleetwood. A memorial garden was built later that also had the names of the fallen on a somewhat grander memorial. Here are the photos and the inscriptions.
Well kept memorial.

ReplyDeleteThank you for this page and the lovely photos of Fleetwood St Peters and the War Memorial. At least one SALTHOUSE man commemorated here is my relative. Hall S. Salthouse is a first cousin of my great granddad. Hall died on 4 May 1915 age 20 & was the son of Edward Salthouse(Snr)and Elizabeth nee Gardner. Hall's middle name was Sheard, so I bet the other Sheard Salthouse is also related on their Salthouse side, though I am descended from the Gardner family side.
Many thanks, it was lovely to come across this.
