Ansdell is situated between St Annes and Lytham on the Fylde Coast. It very much has a characterer of its own - but as far as features are concerned Fairhaven Lake, the White Church and Woodlands road shopping centre are main features. Fylde Rugby club is prominent in the area too, a couple of decent pubs, fairly modern housing and that's your lot. On Channing road the Unitarian Church sits, it reflects the local housing, mostly bungalows with its clean tidy appearance. The bungalows and the houses appear to be about the same age.
I attended a wedding here and although I was not the photographer I had the opportunity to photograph too. I have included a few pictures of the church as well as the memorial shot with the transcription.

Just inside the north Entrance, the 4 lit lamps belonged
to the wedding planners, they were whisked away and magically reappeared at the Villa at Wrea Green within an hour!
Strangely behind the door when I took the photograph there were 80 or so guests, singing and all sorts of wedding stuff going on! Quite odd! |

Panoramic of the inside facing the altar. There are seats for four a side. All the woodwork appears to be in oak. Very tastefull. Pleasant and an excellent feel to the place. It is tiny though. Up above the altar is a round topped leaded window. The only stained glass I think in the church (see below).
The memorial is to the right by the altar. At the time the church was being tidied up after the wedding. |
